How to get started with Waist Training

You’ve just purchased your first waist trainer and are keen to get started - you’ve heard of, or maybe you’ve read up on, all the benefits it can provide you and you can’t wait to pop it on straightaway and reap those rewards!

But, before you race into wearing it ALL THE TIME, there are some things we suggest you do to prepare. Think of it as your secret weapon to getting the most out of your waist training experience.

How to start your waist training journey

Firstly, we recommend starting off with wearing your trainer for only 2-3 hours a day at first, then gradually increasing the wear time for maximum results. The maximum recommended time of wearing the trainer per day is 8 -10 hours.

A helpful guide to getting used to your waist trainer is by increasing your wear time by 1-2 hours every few days or so, for example:

Days 1-4: Wear for 1-3 hours per day

Days 4-8: Wear for 2-5 hours per day

Days 8-14: Wear for 6-8 hours per day

Days 14+: Wear for 6-10 hours per day

The trick is to increase your wear time gradually, allowing your body to comfortably adjust to the feel of the waist trainer.

Our best advice; listen to your body.

Your body knows best, it is as simple as that. Wear your waist trainer as much as you can, taking care not to over-exert yourself and be certain you are never compromising your breathing. Starting off small and upping your wear time gradually is what will ensure your safety, as well as allow you to obtain the best, most efficient results that you will be able to maintain long-term.

What about Sweat Belts?

For sweat belts we recommend wearing just during workouts or 2-4 hours at a time due to the excess perspiration. Sweat belts are perfect for popping on while you do the household chores for an hour, or take a half hour walk/run/jog. Wearing your sweat belt for longer than this can decrease your hydration levels significantly which is not beneficial or healthy.

Rest Days are important too.

Be sure to give your waist a break when needed and do not sleep in your latex waist trainer. We suggest taking a rest day once or even twice a week (depending on your comfort levels) or even reducing your wear time on a couple of days per week.

By following these simple tips, you will be able to optimise your waist training experience, and get the most rewards for your efforts. We are always here to help, so please reach out if you have any questions.
